The Beck Family
The gastronomic history of the Beck family began in 1933 with the leasing of the community inn by the grandfather Matthias Beck and his wife Susanne. The son, Helmut, one of four children, together with his wife Hildegard, built the Birkenhof in 1969-1970. It was inaugurated in 1970. The Birkenhof has been steadily expanded since then and also since it was taken over by Barbara and Roland Beck in 1999, it has been developed from a guest house with 15 rooms into a hotel with 26 double rooms (of these, two are 100% barrier-free) and 4 tower suites. In addition, the Birkenhof has a wellness oasis with sauna including colour light therapy, steam bath and solarium, a fitness room, a magnificent garden, a children's playroom, a children's play area, several cosy rooms in the restaurant, an orangery flooded with light, a library with a billiards table, a seminar room and a multifunction hall with the latest technology for celebrations and
The Golser Birkenhof
1970: Construction and inauguration of the Birkenhof. Originally intended as a canteen for the adjoining swimming pool, Helmut and Hildegard built it as a restaurant with 5 rooms to be used throughout the year. 1973: Addition of the banquet hall. 1978: Addition of the arcade room and expansion of the hotel to 15 rooms. 1995: Extension and beautification of the guest garden to accommodate 80 seats.1998: Renovation and re-design of the wine parlours. 1999: Takeover of the operation by Roland and Barbara. Addition of 26 double rooms and 4 tower suites to the hotel. The following were also built: Sauna, steam bath, solarium, playroom for the children of the staff, laundry, staff quarters, centralisation of the dry storage and cold storage. 2003: Complete renovation of the earlier "standard rooms". Renovation of the banquet hall into a wonderful multi-function hall for celebrations & seminars. 2006: Adaptation of the Birken room and the inn. 2009: Addition of the orangery, reconstruction of the toilets, new buffet area, children's playroom, renovation and addition of the garden, children's play area, replacement of the flooring in the entire ground floor, addition of a new seminar room "Salzberg", re-design of the reception area.
